The Energy sector in India is one of the most critical components of infrastructure. India leads the world in growth of energy sector investments between 2015-18, the only outlier to have seen an inflow into the sector expand by 12% in calendar 2018 alone, with most other economies experiencing a stagnation or decline.

The sectors witnessing investment inflow are energy efficiency, renewable power, electricity networks, thermal power and renewables. India is also investing heavily in the renewable energy space through the implementation of one of the world’s largest renewable energy expansion plans.

Electricity transmission and distribution has also seen growth with the government’s focus on achieving 100% rural electrification.
