This investment is based on the 2019-2025 Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) with the assumption of economic growth of 5.5% per year until 2020 and 6.5 percent by 2025.
Indonesia has the potential to develop greater renewable energy. The government estimates EBT electricity sources to reach 400 GW, but so far only reached 32GW. By 2018, renewable energy only contributed 8.6 percent to the national energy mix.
The government is finalizing the rules on the purchase price of electricity from EBT sources to make it more attractive for investment.
