The State of Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection has selected Park City Wind, an 804 MW project by Vineyard Wind, in its third offshore wind solicitation. This brings the total of offshore wind under development in American waters to 9,040 MWs.

Park City Wind is the largest purchase of renewable energy in Connecticut history, and is projected to serve approximately 14% of the state’s electricity. Bridgeport will be utilized as a staging port. The project will now advance to negotiate with the state’s electricity distribution companies. The contracts must then be approved by the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority.

The Network extends its congratulations to Member, Vineyard Wind, on the Connecticut solicitation result.
