Gender equality in industry: key for sustainable and transformative competitiveness

This analysis, driven by the B·Womenin Industry initiative in the Basque Country and replicated in Europe, shows that the most competitive companies also have the most level playing field in terms of gender. These companies - with gender balanced teams and workplaces that value female talent - are not only increasing revenue and stimulating innovation, but they also foster more stable and sustainable business decisions. Thanks to inclusive recruitment processes, equality plans and workplace conditions that encourage the professional development of women, the industry is becoming a space of opportunities for everyone. The industrial competitiveness of the future will certainly be equitable and efficient, with an essential role for women.

For four years, the WMF Women in Manufacturing expert group analysed the impact of gender equality on industrial competitiveness, showing how inclusive practices and equitable environments boost business performance.
