350 scholarships to gain international experience and
return with valuable professional expertise

The Basque Global Industry Scholarship Programme, formerly known as Global Training, aims to promote the international training and mobility of young professionals from the Basque Country through activities and projects aligned with their academic background. In this edition, work placements strengthen their focus on strategic sectors linked to industry, internationalisation and the future challenges of the Basque Country.

We are aware that, in an increasingly globalised world, the ability to operate effectively in international environments and markets is becoming ever more important. For this reason, the programme combines an initial period of specialised training with a 6- to 12-month international work placement in companies and organisations abroad. This experience will give you the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience, knowledge, contacts and practical tools that will be highly beneficial for your future career.

Up to 12 months of international work placements abroad

It is estimated that, in the near future, a significant proportion of jobs across the European Union will require high-level qualifications, and that much of the acquisition of skills and competences will take place through non-formal education. Particular emphasis will be placed on international mobility, volunteering, practical learning in real working environments, and the active participation of young people.

With this in mind, and in response to the challenges of an increasingly open and global economy, the “Global Training” scholarship programme was launched in 2012 to support the development of skills, knowledge, training and mobility among young people in the Basque Country, helping them to enter the labour market. The programme has now evolved into “Basque Global Industry”. Aimed at young university graduates and holders of higher vocational training qualifications, Basque Global Industry promotes the international mobility of young people from the Basque Country by offering opportunities to undertake projects and professional placements in companies and organisations abroad. Each placement is supported by a structured practical training plan tailored to participants’ academic and professional profiles.
