Last month in Bilbao BTI hosted a delegation of representatives from Marshal Office of Pomorskie Voivodeship and companies from the region’s Offshore industry. During the stay, the Polish delegation visited Wind Europe fair, the largest wind energy event in Europe, as well as the Port of Bilbao and the research centres Tekniker and Tecnalia.
The visit resulted in signing of a cooperation agreement between the Deputy Minister of Industry of the Basque Government Mikel Amundarain on behalf of Basque Trade & Investment and Pomerania Development Agency, Invest in Pomerania.
What does this cooperation mean for the regions?
Both institutions play a key role at its own regional level so will mutually promote and expand trade cooperation, foreign expansion of companies and support innovation in the regions’ strategic sectors:
- -Offshore wind industry / Pomeranian Offshore Platform
- -Technology and greeneconomy, in terms of joint exchange of experiences and promotion of cooperation projects in the framework of the European Green Deal, sustainable development and circular economy
- -SmartCities 2.0 and 3.0
- -Industry 4.0, with particular reference to AI, digitalisation, and cyber-security
- -Biotechnology, health, with particular emphasis on promoting virological research and exchange of good practices, setting up laboratories, telemedicine system and treatment procedures
